Adrian joined the University of Chester in April 2005 as Academic Secretary and Director of Legal of Services.

In April 2005 Adrian moved to his current post at the University of Chester, becoming the first in-house lawyer employed by the University.

He qualified as a solicitor in 1981, having studied at St Peter's College, Oxford and the College of Law in Chester. 

After qualification and training, Adrian practised as a partner in a company/commercial firm of solicitors in the City of Manchester, supplying all legal services required by corporate clients, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, commercial contracts, employment and litigation.

 

After leaving private legal practice, in 1995 he was appointed as Secretary to the governing body and in-house legal adviser at South Cheshire College, a successful further education college in Crewe which has been consistently recognized by Ofsted and the Learning and Skills Council as one of the outstanding colleges in the country.

In April 2005 Adrian moved to his current post at the University of Chester, becoming the first in-house lawyer employed by the University. He deals in that capacity with a wide range of contentious and non-contentious commercial, contractual, employment and property matters.

As Academic Secretary he services the work of the Senior Management Team, the University Executive Group and the Senate.
