Private Sector Accommodation

The University has an extensive list of private sector properties available for students to rent and the majority of accommodation is very close to the main campus.

Guide to the Private Sector

The Accommodation Office, in partnership with the Student Union, have put together a guide which has some pointers regarding the Private Sector.  Download the Private Sector Guide

We would recommend that before students sign ANY agreements or contracts that they thoroughly check the contents as this is a legally binding contract and will prove very difficult/impossible to get out off.  Please ensure when handing money over landlords you receive a receipt for each transaction.

The Students' Union are available for advice on the subjects above.

We understand that students are told to start looking for accommodation from November / December onwards but we, along with the Students' Union, do not recommend this as it's far too early as there are far more properties to choose from.

Private Sector 2011/2012

Please note the Private Sector list for the current academic year has been removed however if you are looking for accommodation and would like a copy please call into the Accommodation Office at the Rigg Building.

Private Sector 2012/2013

The Private Sector list will only advertise properties that are currently Accredited or have the Student Stamp issued by the Private Sector Housing Team at Chester West and Cheshire Council.

The Private Sector list will then be published on Tuesday 17th January 2012 at the Students' Union Accommodation Fayre. The list will then be available to download from Wednesday 18th January 2012.

It will be updated on a regular basis so please keep checking for any changes or new adverts. To check when the list was last updated please look at the date and the issue number which is on the left hand side of the front page.

Please note: We would like to point out that students are to contact the Landlords directly to arrange a viewing and not approach the students living in the properties.
