Chester Students' Union

Chester Students' Union (CSU) exists to represent and support students at the University of Chester. As a member of the National Union of Students, the Union is run by students for students and everyone who joins the University automatically becomes a member.

Representation and Support

CSU is run by a team of students who are elected annually by the wider student body and who are supported by a team of permanent staff. CSU is responsible for helping students to make their voices heard and we represent the point of view of Chester students inside and outside of the University.

Advice and Support

The Student Advice Centre is available to all students and provides free, impartial and confidential advice to students on a range of issues, such as accommodation, health, budgeting, jobs and workloads - anything in fact! This service is available in the CSU building on campus between 9.30am - 3.30pm Monday to Friday.

Entertainment

The CSU is very active in hosting entertainment and events for students. At Chester, the CSU bar and club venue CH1 is the place to be and be seen! The bar sees regular appearances form DJs and bands as well as karaoke, quiz nights and comedy. It's also one of the best spots to chill out during the day with big screen sports and food served all day. All of this at student prices too!

Retail

On the Chester campus, we run two shops, one selling CSU and University branded clothing and memorabilia and the other providing everything from hot and cold drinks, food and snacks to newspapers, stationery and toiletries.

Clubs and Societies

Chester's Students' Union is the perfect place for you to start to look for likeminded people who share your interests or who may be interested in joining you to develop new ones. CSU runs over 70 clubs and societies including sports (hockey, football, cricket, mountaineering etc.), music (rock, live music etc.), and general interest (drama, debating, literature, role play, LGBT, TV).
