Learning Resources

Learning and Information Services offers a wide range of IT and library services on behalf of the University at our campuses in Chester and Warrington and at the Faculty of Health and Social Care Education Centres in Leighton and Clatterbridge Hospitals.

Our Services

Computer Network

We manage a high speed internet connection which you'll use for your studies and entertainment whilst at the University.

The network provides a managed web service in halls of residence, a Virtual Learning Environment called IBIS, hundreds computers around the University for you to use, and a wireless network in many buildings so you can connect your laptop almost anywhere.

Library

We hold extensive collections of books and journals to support University teaching and research, plus the audio-visual and IT resources to help staff and students prepare learning materials and produce assignments and dissertations.

Media Services

The department provides viewing rooms, Avid suites and other private study space in the Seaborne Library, Chester, and viewing rooms and private study space in the Broomhead Library, Warrington.

You can reserve these facilities and use them when you wish.

You may also loan a wide selection of media equipment such as digital voice recorders, or camcorders to help you complete your projects.
