Disability Support is keen to ensure all students benefit fully from university life and achieve their learning potential. Specialist staff on both the Chester and Warrington campuses support students in identifying the most appropriate solutions to potential barriers to learning. This may include creation of an Inclusion Plan.
Our Disability Support Officers offer information, advice and guidance on a range of areas such as:
- Obtaining up to date supporting evidence
- Suitable university accommodation
- Referral for specialist group tutorials
- Exam arrangements
- Note taker support
- Specialist equipment loan
- Funding applications (Disabled Students Allowance)
- Liaison with academic departments
Our Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) staff offer:
- Screening for (SpLD) dyslexia
- Provision of an Individual Assessment Feedback form (IAF)
- Specialist group tutorials focusing on academic skills development
- Referral to an external agency for individual specialist tutorials (once DSA is approved)
