The Centre for Faiths and Public Policy (CFPP) aims to promote greater knowledge, understanding and analysis of the relationship between religion and public policy and wider public life in the UK and beyond. It seeks to achieve its aims by engaging in cutting-edge and interdisciplinary research in this growing field, and by using this research to deliver teaching, consultancy, conferences and other forms of public event.
The Centre is a partnership enterprise between the University of Chester and the William Temple Foundation. It builds on the extensive research and publication experience, as well as networks, already contained within both institutions in order to become a leading resource within and for the NorthWest of England, the UK, Europe and other global arenas. Its interdisciplinary approach will address and inform audiences within government and public policy, the community and voluntary sector, the faith communities themselves, as well as academic and business institutions.
Dr Chris Baker is Director of CFPP, and Professor Elaine Graham, Dr Mohammad Seddon and Dr Wendy Dossett are Associate Directors. The work of the Centre is also resourced by other members of the department.
