The CSIS Department offers a ladder of progression through Higher Education.

Academic Programme

Two-year Foundation Degrees are designed specifically to develop skills to match the needs of employers. For example, the Foundation Degree in Health Informatics is designed for people working, or intending to work, for the NHS or other health-care employers. Learning in the workplace represents a major part of these degrees. Graduates from our Foundation Degrees are offered one-year progression to Honours. Suitable people whose circumstances have denied them the usual entry qualifications will find this an excellent route to a degree.

The range of Single and Combined Honours Degree programmes has been carefully chosen to match developments in the computing professions, without being over-specialised.

The CSIS Department is accredited to deliver training leading to major vendor qualifications such as Cisco. Study for these qualifications can take place in conjunction with a degree programme.

The MSc Programme has a number of pathways, designed to match a variety of first degree subjects and career development plans. Postgraduate programmes in the CSIS Department blend subject-specific study with development of cognitive and professional skills.

Students with research interests may pursue these to gain an MPhil or PhD under the expert supervision of our highly qualified academic staff.
