Andrew’s experience includes working as the lead developer for a software development company, specialising in web and mobile application development. Prior to that he worked in further education supporting students gaining IT qualifications.  Andrew has also carried out contract IT work for the NHS.

In his spare time, he enjoys skiing (when he can get to the mountains), playing the piano and bass guitar. He also does the occasional bit of sound engineering.


Andrew studied at the University of Chester where he completed his undergraduate degree in Multimedia Technologies and has just finished his MSc in Information Systems.


Andrew teaches on a web and various programming modules, he has previously taught on modules for the Business school and is also the current Postgraduate Assessment Officer. His interests lie in mobile applications and other ubiquitous computing devices, developing adaptable and extendable software (for example through the application of design patterns) as well as web accessibility and human computer interaction.


Andrew’s research interests lie in the area of HCI in particular in relation to mobile computing, as well as accessibility in user interfaces.
