Georgina Spry

Senior Lecturer

Overview

I have been working at the University since 2008 teaching on a variety of programmes in the Faculty of Education and Children’s Services, including; special education, art and design, design and technology and pedagogical approaches to teaching and learning in primary and early years teacher education.

I have presented research at a number of European conferences and have worked as a creative consultant internationally. I am studying on the Education Doctorate programme within the university continuing with my research into Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and fulfilling my passion to continue my personal and professional study in the arts.

Teaching

In the last two years I have researched, written and programme lead the Master of Arts programme in Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND) alongside various SEND related post graduate programmes including the National Award for Special Educational Needs Co-ordination. My role as the SEND leader within initial teacher education within the faculty allows the development of SEND for future teachers but also highlights the importance of quality undergraduate and post graduate study.

I teach on the MA Creativity in Education programme and on a variety of undergraduate and post graduate teacher training programmes in the Faculty of Education and Children’s Services, teaching special education, art and design, design and technology and pedagogical approaches to teaching and learning in primary and early years teacher education.
