Senior Lecturer

My teaching career began in 1985 after completing a B.Ed(Hons). I taught across the Primary phase, leading on English and literacy in a number of schools and co-oridnated a Leading Literacy project across a cluster of twelve schools.

Qualifications

In April 2012 I joined the staff at Chester following a period of working as a Senior Lecturer at Liverpool Hope University.

I am currently the Year 3 Leader on the B.Ed. programme and teach professional development education (PDE) and English. I am currently a University Mentor for the Undergraduates, Post-Graduates and School Direct.

Teaching

Amongst my other current duties, I deliver Mentor Training to Professional Mentors based in Primary Schools and have the responsibility of being a Cluster Lead and University Tutor in Partnership with a number of schools in the North West.

Research

Academic interests include literacy in the primary school, mentor development and student support and guidance. Personal interests include swimming, walking and reading.
