Mathematics Knowledge Enhancement Course Leader




Currently, Shaine is the Mathematics Enhancement Course (MEC) Leader at the University of Chester. The Mathematics Enhancement Course is intended to enhance the subject knowledge of students who do not have a degree in mathematics, in order that they may ultimately gain Qualified Teacher Status through one of the recognised initial teacher training courses.

Shaine is a talented mathematician, with a masters and PhD research background in Pure Mathematics. Along with a passion for mathematics Shaine is also interested in the teaching of Mathematics, so much so that in 2005 he went onto complete a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics at Edgehill University.

Shaine has tutored undergraduate mathematicians at the University of Liverpool and has also spent three years teaching secondary school mathematics to the full range of ages and abilities, including A Level Further Mathematics
