Professor Louise T. Higgins

Visiting Professor

Louise's early research was in the field of volunteer motivation and her teaching interests were in personality and social psychology. Her early publications, including videos, audio-tapes, books and articles, reflected her interests in children's development, psychology careers and aspects of psychology teaching.

Overview

Since 1994, Louise has been involved in the development of collaborative cross-cultural psychology projects with psychologists and psychiatrists in the People's Republic of China. This involves lecturing in China, organising specialist delegation visits, carrying out research, supervising research students and obtaining external grants. 

After retiring as Head of Psychology at the University of Chester, Louise continues to act as an external examiner for The University of Wales, a reviewer of cross-cultural research papers, and a lay reviewer for the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
