Dr Heather Wilkinson

Senior Lecturer

Heather teaches on the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Degree programmes in the Department of Psychology, specialising in the areas of Mental Health and Cognitive Neuropsychology. Heather is also the Career Link Tutor for the Department.

Qualifications

Heather studied for her PhD at the University of Liverpool and conducted research into the long-term forgetting of verbal and non-verbal information in patients with Temporal Lobe Epilepsy. She has also completed her Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in the Context of Higher Education.

Heather is the Career Link Tutor for the Department of Psychology and provides careers advice and guidance to the students.

Teaching

Heather teaches on the following Undergraduate and Postgraduate modules: Psychological Research Methods (PS4005), Applied Research Experience in Psychology (PS5099), Forensic Psychology and Mental Health (PS5012) and Research Dissertation (PS6001). She also teaches on the Masters Conversion Course (PS7312).

Research

Heather’s main research interests focus upon the cognitive processes involved in emotion and also the long-term forgetting of verbal and information in patients with Temporal Lobe Epilepsy.
