Overview

Carmel joined the Department in March 2009, before this time she worked for over 8 years as an applied sport scientist at Everton Football Club, within their Academy. Carmel also worked with the parents/guardians of players, given the key and informative role that they have with regard to their child’s development both within and beyond a sporting context. Carmel has also worked with performers in other sports who have competed at national and international standard, however; the majority of her applied work and therefore area of expertise concerns the development of young elite football players within an Academy environment.
