Research Students

A number of PhD students are supervised within the department. Academic staff members with a range of research interests are able to provide expert supervision in their specialist areas.

As well as expert supervisors, students have access to their own office space and specialist software.

As PhD study enables students to become experts in their chosen fields, a number of different facilities are available to support students throughout their studies. As well as expert supervisors, students have access to their own office space, are able to make full use of the recently refurbished library facilities, have access to specialist software for both quantiative and qualitative analysis and are encouraged to attend regular departmental and faculty level research seminars and workshops. Additionally, suitably qualified PhD students are invited to co-edit titles in the department's Issues in the Social Sciences book series, in conjunction with a full-time member of staff.

The department warmly welcomes enquires from potential PhD students interested in any of our research areas. Please consult our dedicated pages and staff profiles for information on individual interests and specialisms.
