CPD Opportunities

The University of Chester believes very strongly that Continued Professional Development (CPD) works most effectively when planned and delivered in partnership with schools and head teachers.

SEN&D Leaders, PQML, NPQSL

The MA Educational Leadership has been designed to provide leaders and aspiring leaders in schools and other educational contexts with an opportunity to achieve a masters level qualification which recognises professional development undertaken through the National College for Teaching and Leadership and also professional practice in the workplace.

Postgraduate Programmes

The Faculty of Education and Children’s Services has been providing high quality courses at postgraduate level for many years. There are both professional and academic programmes of study at postgraduate level within the Faculty.

We run PGCE programmes for graduates wishing to become Early Years, Primary or Secondary teachers. Professional development for teachers has been transformed with our weekend delivery of the MA Education and bespoke school-based CPD which is also at masters level. In addition we are now taking applications for the new Masters in Teaching and Learning for newly qualified teachers.

For graduates seeking Early Years Professional Status we have a Postgraduate Certificate with EYPS and a collaboration with the Faculty of Health and Social Care to support the wider Children’s Workforce. At Doctoral level there is a new professional doctorate, the Ed.D. and we are happy to support prospective Ph.D. students to develop their research proposals.
