NQT Matters

NQT Matters is a new partnership initiative set up by the University of Chester, Cheshire West and Chester Local Authority, Cheshire Leadership & Teaching Alliance, Ignite Teaching School Alliance and Cheshire Vale Teaching School Alliance.

The NQT Matters programme is designed to provide you with support to ensure the best possible outcome at the end of your first year of teaching. The 2017/18 programme comprises of three conferences covering areas identified as high priority by NQTs.

By pooling the wealth of experience and knowledge of the partners involved, we are able to provide a high quality and cost-effective Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Programme. This will not only enhance NQTs' performance and supplement in-school professional development, but also create confident and outstanding individuals as they embark on their teaching caeers.

The NQT Matters programme 2017/18 provides:

  • Three conferences on timely and appropriate themes in order to share best practice. These will cover vital aspects of pedagogical practice and other areas which will complement in-school training.
  • Sessions devised and delivered by current practitioners, experts in their specialist fields of knowledge.
  • An annual package which links into and supports completion of the statutory NQT Portfolio.
  • Advice and guidance for NQT Induction Tutors, with impact tracking avaliable to monitor results.
