Louise Shorney

Deputy Head, Interprofessional Education / Faculty Co-ordinator for Practice Learning and Skills

I joined the University in 2006 and have undertaken various roles within the Faculty. 

I am an adult nurse with a special interest in orthopaedics and tissue viability. 

My role as Faculty Coordinator involves me working with the practice office and practice partners to ensure students have a varied and interesting practice learning experience. 

My role as a deputy head involves me supporting the Head of dept. to develop and enhance interprofessionalism across the faculty and extending our provision to a broader range of healthcare professionals.

Teaching

I am module coordinator for NM5208 – Contextualising Evidence Based Nursing Practice.

I am module leader for NM6157/NM777 – Tissue Viability

I also support post graduate students undertaking the work based project and independent study modules.

Research

My research interests are organisational development, leadership and practice learning.
