Jan Hardy

Senior Lecturer, Public Health and Wellbeing

Experience gained in all aspects of my professional qualifications. Worked as a Health Visitor for the major part of my clinical practice both in the South of England and for the last 10 years of practice in the North West.

Given my clinical background public health is my main interest and passion. . There are many aspects, too numerous to mention, of public health that I particularly find interesting and challenging, that is sexual health and safeguarding vulnerable groups.

I am currently the SCPHN programme leader, a role which allows me to continue to be involved in a profession that is exciting and dynamic and ever evolving. I teach across the pre-registration and post registration programmes. Some of my time is involved in delivering sessions and supporting projects with community trusts.

Research for my Masters in Education looked at how mentors in practice measured their effectiveness as mentors given they have no official tool to evaluate this.
