Pauline Alexander

Senior Lecturer, Public Health and Wellbeing

I am an experienced Senior Lecturer with over 35 years in Higher Education. I teach at all levels across a range of programmes within the Faculty of Health and Social Care. I have the ability to undertake the full range of curriculum development activity from outline planning, developing modules, validation, management, evaluation and review. I have assisted in institutional reviews as an External panel member and on programmes within other faculties at the University of Chester. I have extensive experience of committee membership both as a chairperson and a member of a board.

Qualifications

MA Practitioner Skills Development, MSc Nursing, BA (Open), Dip N (London) Diploma in Tropical Nursing, Cert Ed F.E., RNT, RCNT, RN.

Teaching

I am the Programme leader MSc Global Health. I teach on the Post-Graduate Certificate in Public Health, the Non- Medical Prescribing Programme and BSc Professional Practice, BSc Community Specialist Practice, Bachelor of Nursing and BA Health and Social Care.
 
I undertake Supervision of research dissertations at both Undergraduate and Master’s Level.

Research

I was the Lead Researcher on £72,000 grant from NHS Executive North West Research and Development Unit (2001-2003) “Telephone Triage in Primary Care”
 
I am interested in research in Primary Care, Non-Medical Prescribing and Global Health.
