The aims of the module are to:

  • Enable you to critically analyse a topic relevant to your practice area in some depth, using an action plan, and to consider strategies for future practice.
  • Enable you to expand and develop your knowledge of an area of interest relevant to your clinical practice.


By the end of the module, you will be able to:

  • Identify a topic relevant to your own clinical area and justify parameters for exploration.
  • Develop and complete a learning contract.
  • Critically analyse the topic area with regards to identified goals.
  • Access a wide variety of literature and other resources to debate the topic area.
  • Manage and prioritise your own learning and compilation of the assessment.
  • Critically review innovation and creativity within the topic area.
  • Critically explore the application of theory to practice, and strategies for future practice.
