Please note that these are general entry requirements. Some courses may have additional entry requirements such as previous work experience, submission of written work or previous study of a particular subject. Some courses, for example those in the faculty of Health and Social Care or MSc Marketing Communications and Public Relations, may require a higher level of English.

Undergraduate (Bachelor's Degree)

Academic requirements

• Diploma (from Bangladesh Technical Education Board)
• Diploma (three years from a a paramedical institute)
• Bachelor degree
• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine

English Language requirements

• Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic)  with scores of at least 51 in all 4 components
• IELTS 6.0 (with no less than 5.5 in each band)
• TOEFL IBT 78 with score of: listening 21, reading 22, speaking 23, writing 21 in each section
• TEEP 6.0

Postgraduate (Master's Degree)

Academic requirements

• Master's degree
• Bachelor degree (four years in duration) from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology
• Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)/ Bachelor of Dental Surgery when awarded from a university whose medical school is recognised by Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council

English Language requirements

• Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) with overall score of 57 and no less than 51 in any component
• IELTS 6.5 (with no less than 5.5 in each band)
• TOEFL  IBT with an overall score of 85 and the following minimum scores in the components: listening 21, reading 22, speaking 23, writing 21
• TEEP 6.5

Postgraduate (Research Degree)

Academic requirements

Each application is assessed on its own merits but we do expect students to hold the following:

• Master of Philosophy (MPhil)
• Doctor of Philosophuy (PhD)
• Master Degree (from BUET)
• Doctor of Medicine (MD)/Master of Surgery from either University of Dhaka, Bangladesh University of Professionals, Chittagong University, Rajshahi University, Shahjahal University of Science and Technology, University of Sciene and Technology, Chittagong and the Gono Bishwabidyalay or a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from university of Dhaka, Chittagong University and Rajshahi University

English Language requirements

• Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) Postgraduate 58 and no less than 51 in any component
• IELTS 6.5 (with no less than 5.5 in each band)
• TOEFL (internet) 85 and the following minimum scores in each component: listening 21, reading 22, speaking 23, writing 21
• TEEP 7.0
