About us - Chester Medical School

The Chester Medical School is an exciting development at the University of Chester.

The Institute has a portfolio of postgraduate programmes suitable course for practising doctors and health professionals employed by the health sector in one capacity or another, or medical practitioners wishing to enhance their independent practice through a CPD/personal development plan.

Programmes are delivered by our highly qualified staff in collaboration with medical consultants and healthcare specialists.

The aims of the Chester Medical School are as follows

  1. Develop and deliver Postgraduate taught medical programmes
  2. Provide high quality research degree supervision
  3. Develop research programmes jointly with the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (COCH) and other hospital trusts that are relevant at regional, national and international level
  4. Develop and deliver CPD programmes suitable for the medical and healthcare professions
  5. Develop and publish 2 new biochemical/medical journals though ChesterOnline – one a review series and the second a primary research journal
  6. Develop a new undergraduate medical curriculum
  7. Develop processes and structures to allow the development of a new Medical School
  8. Develop and deliver clinical services
  9. Explore further additions to University’s portfolio of Healthcare Programmes
