Overview

Lecturer in Events Management

After completing an MA in Creative and Cultural Management here at the University of Chester, Emily went directly into industry, starting her career in the third sector, working for arts and cultural organisations that worked closely with the public and private sector. Experience in the field ranged from positions at administrative to Director level, therefore Emily has a wealth of knowledge and expertise to offer students. Emily event managed a number of large-scale events in Chester including, Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre, Chester Summer Music Festival, Chester Literature Festival; and smaller events such as Moonlight Flicks (open air cinema), Family Saturdays at the Amphitheatre, GobbleDEEbook Children’s Festival, Wayword Festival and Rogues Galleries. With contacts maintained in industry, her students can expect numerous and various opportunities heading their way as a result.

Since joining the academic team at Chester Business School in 2014, Emily has successfully completed her Post Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching Higher Education, is now a Senior Lecturer and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Emily currently lectures on the BA in Events Management at Chester Business School, in addition to lecturing at University Centre Shrewsbury where she is the Programme Leader of the BA in Events and Festivals Management.
