Stain

Alice Davies is a final-year student of Creative Writing with English.

When I leave you in the morning

I can smell you on the split-ends

of my hair.

I can smell you on my ear lobes

where your tongue has

dawdled

and where your saliva remains.

I can smell you in my belly-button

and on the faint hairs of my breasts

and in the crease of my armpit.

I can smell you on the backs of my knees

where your fingers

tickle and slide

and where I itch for the rest of the day.
