A group of Events Management students from the University of Chester is hosting an evening of music and comedy to raise money for the Ben Cohen StandUp Foundation.

The second year students are hosting the event on Tuesday, February 26 from 7pm to 11pm at The Commercial Hotel in Chester city centre. The Ben Cohen StandUp Foundation is a charity that aims to ‘stand up’ against bullying of any nature.

‘The Streets are Alive with the Sound of Pride’ is an acoustic music and stand-up comedy night with performances from Dan Nightingale and ME & Deboe, amongst others. The event is in support of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community and local artists from Chester.

Tickets are £4 in advance and £5 on the door. Email 1121990@chester.ac.uk for tickets.

Ben Cohen, Founder of The StandUp Foundation, said: “It is time we stand up for what is right and support people who are being harmed. Every person on this planet has a right to be true to themselves, to love and be loved, and to be happy.”
