Prospective students invited to experience the Chester difference at Open Day

The University of Chester is offering prospective students the chance to experience for themselves the ‘Chester difference’ at its latest Open Day.

This is the opportunity to view what the University of Chester has to offer them, explore the Chester difference and discover how we can help them achieve their full potential.

On Saturday, June 8, the University opens its doors to the next potential intake of undergraduate and postgraduate students, giving them the opportunity to see what this historic institution has to offer, and how it can help them achieve their full potential.

They will be able to explore the facilities available at its Chester Campus, Kingsway Buildings and Riverside Campus, to meet the lecturers, and to talk to the current student body – whose votes helped the University achieve the Times Higher Education (THE) magazine’s Most Improved Student Experience trophy at the 2012 THE Awards.

Adam Bodger, the University’s Student Recruitment Manager, said: “In the past few years there has been a real gear change in how students choose their university. They have become a very savvy set of consumers and, as a result, have more questions than ever before, because they are looking to invest in their futures.

“Attending an open day is a useful starting point for researching their options as they can get the answer to these questions by taking part in taster lectures and guidance sessions, having a one-to-one chats with academic staff, as well as exploring the academic facilities and student accommodation. They can also find out more about the support available to help them during their degree, which can make a real difference to their careers.

“This is the opportunity to view what the University of Chester has to offer them, explore the Chester difference and discover how we can help them achieve their full potential. They can find out for themselves what it would really be like to live and study here – it’s an ideal way of seeing whether Chester is right for them.”

For this first time at an Open Day, prospective students and their families will learn more about the University’s exciting new accommodation, offering 360 additional places on the Chester Campus and at the Travelodge.

The University of Chester Open Day runs between 10am and 3pm. Visit www.chester.ac.uk/openday to book your place and find out more information.
