The power of how social media can work for businesses will be explored in a free workshop as part of an Open Evening at the University of Chester’s Warrington Campus.

Warrington is a major business hub in the North West and we offer a multitude of part-time and flexible courses that can fit into busy schedules or help companies and their employees gain the qualifications that they need
Professor Lawrence Bellamy

Held on Tuesday, September 10 from 4pm to 7.30pm the Open Evening offers the opportunity for visitors to learn more about postgraduate, professional and part-time courses available at the Campus in Padgate.

Tanya Hemphill, Senior Lecturer in Public Relations, will also give an overview of the top social media platforms available and explain how other businesses have leveraged their power to help drive sales. The session starts at 6pm and booking is essential as places are limited. It will offer a useful insight into how businesses can use social media to maximum benefit.

For those looking for a career change, interested in working in a public service vocation or to develop skills further, the Open Evening offers the opportunity to find out more about postgraduate or professional courses on subjects such as policing, education, nursing, business and media as well as how the University can support students throughout their time studying and beyond.

A ‘marketplace’ will be on show for visitors to learn more about the facilities on offer at the Campus as well as part-time and full-time study areas including Policing; Social Work; Health; Education; Business; Media and Sport. This informal, drop-in event will enable prospective students to meet the representatives from the courses they are interested in, talk with the support departments and find out why University of Chester graduates are among the most employable in the North West.

The Campus offers sports and conference facilities, outdoor spaces and rooms for hire, accessible to both businesses and the public. More details will be available on the evening.

Professor Lawrence Bellamy, Associate Dean at the Warrington School of Management, said: “Warrington is a major business hub in the North West and we offer a multitude of part-time and flexible courses that can fit into busy schedules or help companies and their employees gain the qualifications that they need.

“The Open Evening is not just an opportunity to find out more about our courses but also the chance to see what the Warrington Campus can offer to both businesses and individuals.”
