Alumni Art Show 2013
Arts alumni reunite at contemporary art exhibition. Sneak a preview of the work here
A collection of contemporary art, created by alumni of the University of Chester’s Art and Design Department is now open at Kingsway Buildings. Taking place at the University’s new Contemporary Art Space Chester (CASC) gallery, the Alumni exhibition will showcase new and original degree work from a range of Fine Art graduates from the last decade.
The exhibition is curated by Chris Millward, Technical Demonstrator within the Art and Design Department at the University, to mark his 10 years of service at the institution this year. Chris explained: “This is a fantastic opportunity for the Department to reunite former students from far and wide and bring them all 'home' to exhibit once more at the new CASC gallery, which was not completed until after most of the artists had graduated.
“There is a strong mixture of sculptural, photographic and painted works on show incorporating various styles, techniques and media. The artists have all maintained an interest in the subject since graduating from the University, and have travelled from all parts of the country to take part in this special occasion, with one artist travelling over from Portugal to exhibit and offer a talk to current students. It has been a delight to meet and work with so many familiar faces and I must thank everybody for contributing to the success of the exhibition."
Alumni will open for a private view on Thursday, November 14, 2013 from 5pm until 7pm. The exhibition is open to the public and will continue to run daily from November 15, until December 18, 2013 from 10am to 4pm. Entry is free.
