Apply now - free programme of business support for Cheshire SMEs

Posted on 9th January 2014

Places are still available for small and medium sized businesses across Cheshire to take part in a free programme of business support at the University of Chester, starting later this month.

The Knowledge Action Network (KAN), which is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), helped over 25 Cheshire businesses during 2013. The project brings together local businesses and University expertise to encourage creative approaches to innovation and growth. Business owners are asked to take a critical and objective look at their companies, with support from specialist speakers, University experts, individual business coaches and business peers.

The KAN programme offers membership of the Knowledge Action Network, with networking and trading opportunities of over 200 companies and at least six hours of individual business coaching to work intensively with each business. The programme also offers membership to Knowledge Action Groups- four thought-provoking workshops each followed by a facilitated discussion session.

Induction for the new cohort is due to take place on Monday, January 20, 2014, and will include a presentation by special guest speaker Adrian Lomas, Managing Director of the multi-award winning Cheshire based company Blueleaf. The day will also serve as a networking opportunity to meet with the current KAN delegates.

There are limited spaces available to join the new cohort and businesses are encouraged to register their interest as soon as possible. Businesses interested in joining the Knowledge Action Network should contact Catherine on 01244 511177, email c.theobold@chester.ac.uk or can express interest straight away at http://www.knowledge-action.co.uk/content/express-your-interest
