Student fundraiser steps back in time

Combining home-baked treats with old-fashioned games will bring all the fun of the fair to the University of Chester’s Warrington Campus this weekend.

A Vintage Fair and Fun Day takes place at the Crab Lane Campus this Sunday (February 2), in aid of Macmillan Cancer Research.

Organised by Simply British Events, a group of Events Management students from the University, this fundraiser will include retro-themed activities with traditional games such as coconut shies, as well as a selection of stalls selling everything from cakes to clothing and jewellery.

There will also be entertainment from Warrington based student duo Naomi and Robbie. Phillipa Molyneux, one of the event organisers, said: “We are all looking forward to hosting this event and raising money for such a good cause. This charity is close to our hearts and we can’t wait to see how much money we make. We are very excited to be involved with the charity and to raise awareness of the remarkable things they do.”

The event takes place in the Sports Hall between 11am and 3pm. Admission is £3 on the door and includes a free hot or cold drink and slice of cake. If you would like to attend the event contact Phillipa at
