The End of Journalism

Published at the end of January 2014, The End of Journalism Version 2.0 is a collection of essays edited by Dr Alec Charles, Head of the University of Chester’s Media Department. The book is a sequel to a collection which Alec published in 2011.

This volume brings together the work of British, American and Australian academics and media professionals to examine the practices of reporting in an era of social networking, online news and phone-hacking. Alec's book explores how new technologies have inspired both professional and amateur journalists, and asks how such phenomena as citizen journalism and user-generated content are changing the nature of the news industry in the second decade of the twenty-first century.
