Media lecturer wins award

A lecturer in the Media Department has been honoured by a prestigious University award.

In a ceremony on 3 June 2014, David Grimshaw, Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader of our popular BA Radio Production programme, won the coveted University of Chester award as the University's most inspiring lecturer.

In addition to running our successful radio course, David's work at the University includes the management of the University's CAT Radio station - whose own annual awards took place in March - as well as the Sound Shed and Coffee House Session broadcasts - which on 23 May hosted a live performance by the group Hudson Taylor.

In addition to this recognition of David's excellence in teaching, his work has also been praised by former student and BBC Radio 5Live Commissioning Editor Richard Maddock, who recently visited the University to talk to students about work in the media industry.
