Political Debate on Education

Posted on 27th January 2012

What is considered as useful learning is a highly contested area. A debate on the nature of useful learning featuring the three main parties will take place on January 27th. Educational and Political ideologies are studied in detail on the Education Studies course, particularly in Level 5 modules.

Three local politicians have kindly agreed to participate in a lively and exciting question and answer debate which will give each politician the opportunity to represent the views of their party with regards to education. This will be a unique opportunity for students at Chester to pose questions to real politicians and engage in critical discussion on educational matters.

Representing the Conservatives will be Esther McVey MP, representing Labour will be Michael Sullivan (candidate for Wirral) and representing the Liberal Democrats will be Jean Evans, chairperson of the Chester Liberal Democrats.
