Carly McEvoy

Postgraduate research student

Having previously completing a BA History and MA in Military History at University of Chester, I started my PhD research in September 2014 under the supervision of Professor Howard Williams.

Overview

My area of research is the social significance of funeral monuments in Cheshire parish churches. I will analyse the surviving material culture and its treatment throughout history, contemplating what they reveal of the beliefs of people in Cheshire and what they can tell us on the role of women in medieval and early modern society.
