Chester scoops radio award

The Chester Media Department's radio station has won the award for Best Easter Programme at this year's prestigious Jerusalem awards.

Following the radio station's three nominations in July, the special edition of our popular show The Best Radio On Radio, produced by BA Radio Production students Siân Heron and Harry Colley, and presented by University Chaplain Father Ian Delinger scopped this national award for religious broadcasting.

The University of Chester show triumphed against competition which included BBC Radio 2's Pause for Thought, at a ceremony which took place on 15 October 2014 at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts in London.

Radio Production programme leader David Grimshaw said: "This award is particularly pleasing considering the other eminent broadcasters also nominated. This is national broadcasting recognition for our students, the Media Department and the University of Chester."
