Humanities success in NSS and Leagues Tables 2014

The Faculty is proud to announce the great success of our departments in the recent National Student Survey and league tables.  Here are a few of their achievements:

Department of English

  • 5th in UK for overall satisfaction - NSS 2014
  • 97% course is intellectually stimulating - English Literature - NSS 2014
  • 98% lecturers are enthusiastic about what they teach - Creative writing - NSS 2014
  • 97% satisfied with the course - Guardian University Guide 2015
Departmenty of History and Archaeology
History
  • 97% lecturers are good at explaining things

Archaeology:
  • 100% satisfied with the course overall
  • 100% lecturers have made the subject interesting - NSS 2014
Department of Modern Languages
French
  • 1st in North West region and 2nd in UK for French Graduate Prospects - Complete University Guide 2015
Spanish 
  • 82% staff good at explaining things - Unistats 2014
German
  • Over two thirds of graduates in 2014 achieved 2:1 or better 
Chinese
  • Over 90% student success rate in first year at Chester
Department of Theology and Religious Studies
  • 91% course is intellectually stimulating - NSS 2014
  • 2nd= in UK for Graduate Prospects -The Complete University Guide, 2015
