Above and Below art exhibition

Posted on 12th September 2013

The University of Chester in conjunction with Blue Barn Arts will present an art exhibition, Above and Below, from September 21, 2013.

The exhibition of artworks will be installed in the barn and the beautiful adjacent woodland at Yarrangall Green Farm, near Frodsham, Cheshire.

Over 20 artists which have a direct association with the University of Chester’s Art and Design Department will be using this incredibly varied landscape to its best advantage to show their fascinating new work. It has been called Above and Beyond as an open title, although there is reference to landscape, height of land, earth and sky, surface and below the surface .Blue Barn, as the hosting organisation, has worked closely over a number of years with Dr Jeremy Turner, Head of Fine Art at Chester, who is the main curator of this show. Bringing together this diverse group of artists will be the fourth collaboration with the University on this site.

Above and Below artists include Estelle Woolley, recently selected for the neo:art prize exhibition at neo:gallery, Bolton and Steve Carrick who, as part of an arts collective called Leeds United  is currently collaborating with Paul Rooney at Edinburgh College of Art. Also exhibiting is Lesley Halliwell, currently showing in The Infinity Show at NN in

Northampton and who recently completed a commission for Darke House in Twickenham.

The exhibition will be open to the public between 10am and 5pm on Saturday, September 21, Sunday, September 22, Saturday, October 5 and Sunday, October 6.

Yarrangall Green Farm is the base for Blue Barn Arts and the Family Jam Production Company. Close to Delamere Forest and on the Sandstone Trail, the Farm is accessible by car and train. The nearest stations are Helsby (two miles) and Mouldsworth (1.5 miles). Google map and directions available at http://www.familyjam.co.uk/index.htm
