Prof Nick Hulbert-Williams, Director of the Chester Research Unit for the Psychology of Health (CRUPH) is in Dublin this week at the European Oncology Nursing Society (EONS) and International Psycho-Oncology Society (IPOS) annual conferences.

As an invited speaker at EONS, Nick will be talking about cancer care experiences in demographic minority groups, including discussion of findings from two programmes of research taking place in CRUPH. The first has used a mixed methods approach to understand cancer care experiences in people with an intellectual disability. The second is a quantitative secondary analysis of the UK National Cancer Patient Experience Survey which highlights important disparities in those who identify as lesbian, gay or bisexual. On the second day of the conference, Nick will also be facilitating a training workshop on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and its place in cancer care.

Nick will be presenting the results from many of our recent research projects at the IPOS World Congress of Psycho-Oncology. As Chair of the IPOS Research Committee, he will also be co-hosting a Research Concept Development Workshop for early career researchers, and will be taking part in the early career professionals Mentoring Lunch. Nick will join a discussion panel on the topic of 'Psychosocial support in practice: who cares?' on the first day of the Conference.
