Conservative MP for Eddisbury, Antoinette Sandbach took part in a Question and Answer session with students, where she answered a range of questions relating to education.

Topics discussed included grammar schools, tuition fees, teacher training and the government’s top priorities for education policy.

Students tabled questions to Antoinette and were given opportunity to respond to her answers. Following a lively discussion session Antoinette said: “I very much enjoyed my time with the students and the question and answer session that put me through my paces!

“Hearing directly from students about what matters to them and their views on education policy is extremely important and I value their views and thank them for sharing them with me.”

Programme Leader for BA Education Studies, Dr Paul Skillen, said: “It was a great opportunity for students to engage with a Conservative MP and hear first-hand the government’s plans for Education. The students had researched their subjects thoroughly and gave excellent responses to Antoinette’s answers.

“The high level of debate was enjoyed by all who attended the event and we were grateful to Antoinette for giving up her time to debate with our students.”
