West Cheshire Food Bank

Do you live in West Cheshire? Do you know about the West Cheshire Food Bank?

Dry and tinned goods welcome. More information available here: https://westcheshire.foodbank.org.uk/give-help/donate-food/

Not only does this project help those in crisis, it’s also good for the environment! Food waste is a tremendous environmental hazard. One way food banks help the environment is by rescuing food that would otherwise go to waste, and redistributing it to feed hungry people.

Worldwide at least one-third of the food we produce each year is lost or wasted, which amounts to about 1.3 billion tons.

In addition, the huge amount of resources used to produce that food – such as fresh water, land, and energy – is also wasted.

At the same time more than 800 million people worldwide do not have sufficient access to the food they need to nourish themselves and their families.

Think about helping those in crisis ……….. and going green!
