We are so appreciative for the donations collected, as well as building a stronger awareness of the Clatterbridge Cancer Charity.

One Moment Events, a company established by second year Events Management students at the University, organised a wine tasting evening at Chez Jules recently and raised £505 for The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity - the only charity dedicated for patients and research at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre.

The Centre treats more than 30,000 patients a year, offering pioneering chemotherapy, radiotherapy and proton therapy treatments. The money raised by the Charity helps the Centre to offer the most up to date treatment, support vital research, treat patients with world class equipment and provide life-changing support services that would be otherwise unavailable.

Thirty eight guests were treated to a selection of charcuterie and cheese boards, complemented by six different wines for tasting, provided and selected by Chester Beer and Wines based in Hoole. Sam Jackson, owner of Chester Beer and Wines, was also on hand to provide information on each of the wines.

Eleanor Preston, Marketing Manager of One Moment Events, said: “It was a very busy and hectic planning process, but we are really pleased with the outcome of our first ever event. We are so appreciative for the donations collected, as well as building a stronger awareness of the Clatterbridge Cancer Charity.”

Elspeth Wilson from The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity added: “We would like to say a massive thanks to the group for supporting the charity. We are always appreciative of the events the students from the University of Chester organise on behalf of the Charity and for the donations they raise.”
