Earth Optimism Cambridge

Posted on 11th May 2017

Dr Sonya Hill (Programme Leader in Animal Behaviour and Welfare, Dept of Biological Sciences) was recently honoured to be an invited guest at the Earth Optimism conference, held at the University of Cambridge as part of Earth Day 2017.

Sonya attended the event as a Trustee of the Jane Goodall Institute UK, along with Dr Tammy Davies (Birdlife International), with whom Sonya used to work in her previous position at Chester Zoo. Among the plenary speakers were Dr Jane Goodall DBE, who gave an inspiring talk about the importance of studying the behaviour of animals, and how every one of us can make a difference in conservation; and Sir David Attenborough, who spoke about the importance of perseverance in our conservation efforts.
