Matthew Burton joined Greater Manchester Police in 1989 where he performed various roles including Counter Terrorism. He joined the National Crime Squad (NCS) in 2005, where he was involved in Regional and International Organised Crime Investigations and transferred to the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) on its creation in 2006.

With experience and expertise in a full range of Policing roles and as the Head of the UKICB, he safeguards the UK’s integrated approach to international policing that capitalises on the efficiencies and deconfliction opportunities that a combined INTERPOL National Central Bureau, EUROPOL National Unit and SIRENE Bureau can bring to law enforcement.

Matthew is also a subject matter expert operationally in Firearms command and Organisationally in Transformation Programmes.
