'Still she persisted': Women and Power Today - Dr Naomi Wolf, progressive American author, journalist, feminist, and former political advisor to Al Gore and Bill Clinton, first came to prominence in 1991 as the author of The Beauty Myth. Dr Wolf will be in conversation with Professor Emma Rees, Director of the Institute of Gender Studies.


Alison Johns has been chief executive of the Leadership Foundation since July 2014 and has worked in higher education for 25 years. She will talk about equality and diversity, learning and teaching, and leadership and governance in HE. Alison will be introduced by Professor Clare Schofield, Dean of the Faculty of Business.


Raj Holness, West Midlands Woman of the Year and Most Inspirational Woman 2015, is Managing Director of Breaking the Silence, an organisation working on ways to deal with the silence generated from being a victim of domestic abuse, forced marriage, or human trafficking. Raj will be introduced by Professor June Keeling of the Institute of Medicine.
