A talented young graduate is one of just two finalists in a national competition, searching for the face of entrepreneurship for 2011.

I would love to win the 2011 challenge to get the recognition in order to show other people that I have done it!

Kerry Judson, 24, from Marsden, South Shields, who studied Fine Art at the University of Chester, was chosen out of hundreds of applications to be in the final of the ‘If We Can You Can’ challenge.

Kerry’s love for fashion and art inspired her to create her own clothing brand called ‘Style It Rich’, which has received a great deal of interest and positive feedback from high street retailers and clothing agents.

The winner of the ‘If We Can You Can’ challenge will gain access to the Entrepreneurs’ Forum, which provides help and advice to entrepreneurs from those who have already been successful in setting up their own business. In addition, the winner will also win £5,000 worth of marketing and advertising to help launch the brand.

Kerry’s business ‘Style it Rich’ is an innovative fashion design house for both men and women’s fashion, which aims to supply five of the most popular fashion trends at the moment- indie, rock, 60’s inspired, street and beach style, to both businesses and individual customers.

Kerry said: “This is an amazing opportunity for me. I have managed to succeed in creating a fresh and innovative business from scratch, receiving very positive and encouraging feedback from big retailers at an early stage. I believe that I have the drive and enthusiasm to continue this hard work in order to produce a long lasting brand name with a high profit margin.”

Despite having to struggle through school subjects with a severe case of dyslexia, and leaving with just one GCSE in Art, Kerry was able to use her natural creative flair to study Fine Art degree at the University, from which she graduated with honours. Since graduating she has made a living through producing art work for galleries across the UK and staging exhibitions of her work.

Kerry added: “I would love to win the 2011 challenge to get the recognition in order to show other people that I have done it!

“It was a challenge in itself to pick myself up after facing continuous knock backs and people telling me that I couldn’t do it. I took it all on the chin and remained positive by reading websites like Entrepreneurs’ Forum and entering the ‘If We Can You Can’ challenge. After all, if so many others have done it, then why can’t I?”

Kerry is urging University of Chester students and members of the general public to vote for her in the competition by texting VOTE KERRY to 07624 803199 or go to http://ifwecanyoucan.co.uk/challenge and vote for Kerry Judson. Online votes need to be received by June 19th.
