A talented young graduate has triumphed in a national competition searching for the face of entrepreneurship for 2011.

Kerry Judson, 24, from Marsden in South Shields, who studied Fine Art at the University of Chester, has been crowned the winner of this year’s ‘If We Can You Can’ challenge after weeks of rigorous judging and public voting.

Kerry was inspired to create her own clothing brand called ‘Style It Rich’ through her own passion for fashion and art. The brand has received a great deal of interest and positive feedback from high street retailers and clothing agents.

Kerry said: “I’m so proud to be crowned the North East’s Face of Entrepreneurship. It has been a rollercoaster setting the business up this year and it’s great to see the hard work has paid off.

“The prize of membership to the Entrepreneurs’ Forum, where I can seek help and advice from other successful entrepreneurs, and £5000 is a massive help towards helping me to market the business. Becoming an ambassador for entrepreneurship will show credit to the business and its achievements.”

A spokesperson from ‘If We Can You Can’ said: “This year’s ‘If We Can You Can’ challenge proved yet again that there is a phenomenal amount of entrepreneurial talent in the North East. We were delighted by the quality and quantity of entrants, and even more so by their passion and determination for their businesses to succeed.

“We will be throwing a Celebration Party in need of our regional winners, and everyone who has played a part in the success of the ‘If We Can You Can Challenge’. This will be a great opportunity for everybody to meet face to face, and be part of the entrepreneurial revolution that is transforming the region’s economy.”

Kerry’s business 'Style It Rich' is a fresh and innovative fashion design house which supplies men’s and women’s clothing to both personal and business customers. The brand aims to provide all four of the most followed fashion trends today – indie, rock, vintage and street style clothing.

All of Kerry’s designs are in production and she is currently working on setting up fashion shows around the UK, ready for the launch of the brand which will be in time for Christmas.
