The University of Chester Outreach Team has a dynamic mix of experience and knowledge from a variety of subject disciplines and education/careers guidance. This blend of skills and abilities helps to deliver a holistic and innovative service to schools and colleges across the UK.

  • Manages the Outreach Office and its nine members of staff.  This involves coordinating the strategic and operational functions of the office 
  • Oversees the development and delivery of on and off campus events and activities 
  • Responsible for the monitoring and evaluation of activities/events, analysing questionnaires and statistics to underscore and inform future widening participation strategies
  • Delivers our outreach activity with looked-after children
  • Responsible for promoting forthcoming activities such as Faculty events, lectures and open days with schools and colleges
  • Works closely with other ‘nominated’ HEIs in order to maintain and develop collaborative activity

  • Provides administrative support to the Outreach Team, including record-keeping and reporting.
  • Deals with Outreach enquiries including liaising with internal colleagues, schools, colleges and other external clients.
  • Assists with Outreach events such as school and college visits to campus.
  • Manages Student Ambassadors required to assist with Outreach events.
  • Provides advice and guidance to potential applicants, parents, HE advisers etc. on general admissions processes and procedures

  • Delivers impartial information, advice and guidance, to prospective students whilst always ensuring the integrity of its delivery as a staff member at the University of Chester.
  • Provides talks/presentations/IAG on any pastoral subject related to Higher Education application and to any potential audience.
  • Proactive in the design and delivery of activities and events (e.g. introductory talks, tasters, mock interviews etc) for individual schools and colleges.
  • Offers higher education information, advice and guidance to post-16 tutors and careers advisers, as well as offering a customer-focused service for all internal and external clients.
  • Acts as a first point of contact for schools and colleges with regards to University ‘liaison’ activities and events.
  • Arranges on-campus recruitment and aspiration-raising events for groups with whom the University has special relationships, as and when requests are made.
  • Delivers presentations to a wide range of audiences and facilitates workshops on a variety of educational issues.
