The getting-up cup

A table strewn

With spectacles, papers,

Cigarettes, and pollen

From those shameless lilies;

Petal-naked, stigma-nude,

Shedding pink sighing

Satyr-rude.

Tea steams,

Smoke and eyes evoke

A cradling, a clutching

Sweetness. A band

Of silence tightens,

Becomes a line

Of touch between us.
