Why study Clinical Counselling at Chester?

The Graduate/Postgraduate Diploma has been replaced and revalidated to degree level provision to meet new challenges in counsellor education. The MA in Clinical Counselling offers professional training in counselling to participants to enable them to work as counsellors on graduation.

The programme has an integrated approach with the aim of fostering academic, professional and personal development. It follows a modular structure delivered over three years. An essential component of the training is the work with clients in a placement supported by individual and group supervision. Personal therapy, away days and residential weekends are also a feature of the programme.

Programme Structure:

SO7302 Ethical and Professional Practice 1

SO7303 Personal and Professional Development 1

SO7304 Theory and Practice of Counselling 2
